Welcome back to a new school year!

Month at a glance:

Language:  -pre/during/post reading strategies, prefixes and suffixes and how they help us understand the meaning of unfamiliar words, characteristics of informational texts, persuasive writing, letter writing

Math: -place value (Grade 4 to 5-digits and Grade 5 to 6-digits plus decimals to hundredths), representing/comparing/ordering/rounding numbers, number patterns, and connecting patterning to data management, money

Science:
Grade 4: Pulleys and Gears               Grade 5: Forces Acting on Structures

Social Studies:
Grade 4: Canada’s provinces and territories     Grade 5: Citizenship and Government

Music:
- the focus will be on reading and understanding musical notation (French terms for notes and values) before beginning to play recorders

Tuesday, September 24:  **no official homework due to Curriculum Night but I have suggested some practice questions for any students who want or have time to review for their quiz tomorrow:
